Brownies
Dense, fudgy chocolate brownies dusted with icing sugar. A generous recipe for a full tray.

Ingredients
Type a number or fraction (for example 0.5, 2 or 1/2) and the amounts recalculate.
- 375 gbutter3 sticks of 125 g
- 3 cupssugar
- 3 cupsflour
- 6eggs
- 1 1/2 cupscocoa
- 2 teaspoonsbaking powder
- 1/2 teaspoonsalt
- 2 teaspoonsvanilla
Instructions
- Sift the dry ingredients.
- Melt the butter and stir in the cocoa until fully dissolved.
- Beat the eggs, sugar and vanilla.
- Add the butter and cocoa mixture and beat until incorporated.
- Fold in the dry ingredients without overmixing.
- Bake at 350° for 20 minutes in a large greased and floured tray.
- Once cool, cut into squares and dust with icing sugar.
Notes and variations
- Butter can be replaced with 1½ cups of vegetable oil (not olive oil).
- Scatter toasted walnuts over the raw batter before baking.
