Antioquian Natilla

Traditional Antioquian natilla made with a ready mix, panela and cinnamon, dusted with ground cinnamon.

Ingredients

Type a number or fraction (for example 0.5, 2 or 1/2) and the amounts recalculate.

  • 1 cupMaizena-brand natilla mix
  • 1/8 poundadditional panela
  • 5 cupsmilk
  • 2cinnamon sticks
  • ground cinnamonfor dusting

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the mix (cornstarch) in half of the cold milk.
  2. Heat the other half with the panela and the cinnamon sticks.
  3. Combine both, stirring constantly so it does not stick.
  4. When the bottom of the pot becomes visible, remove from the heat and pour into a mold.
  5. When perfectly cool, unmold and dust with ground cinnamon.
