Apple Rings with Ice Cream
Apple rings in a beer tempura, fried until crisp, dusted with sugar and served with vanilla ice cream.

Ingredients
Type a number or fraction (for example 0.5, 2 or 1/2) and the amounts recalculate.
- 4large apples
- lemon juicefor brushing
- rum or Grand Marnierfor brushing
- icing sugarfor dusting
- 1 1/2 cupsflour
- 2eggs
- 1/4 teaspoonsalt
- 1 cupbeer
Instructions
- Peel, core and cut the apples into rings one centimeter thick.
- Brush them with lemon so they do not oxidize, then sugar, ground cinnamon and rum on both sides.
- Make the tempura with the flour, salt, egg yolks and beer. Beat the egg whites to stiff peaks and fold them in.
- Drain the excess liquid from the apples and coat each ring in the batter.
- Fry for approximately 40 seconds on each side.
- Remove and place on absorbent paper.
- Dust with icing sugar and serve immediately with vanilla ice cream.
