Southern Pecan Pie
A classic Southern pie with pecan halves over a sweet corn syrup filling that glazes as it bakes.

Ingredients
Type a number or fraction (for example 0.5, 2 or 1/2) and the amounts recalculate.
- 1pastry for 9" pie shell
- 1 cuppecan halves
- 3eggs
- 1 tablespoonbuttermelted
- 1 cuplight corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoonvanilla
- 1 cupsugar
- 1 tablespoonflour
Instructions
- Arrange the pecan halves in the bottom of the pie shell.
- Beat the eggs, add the butter, corn syrup and vanilla, and stir until well blended.
- Combine the sugar and flour and blend into the egg mixture.
- Pour over the nuts and let stand until the nuts rise to the surface.
- Bake in a moderate oven at 350°F for 45 minutes; the nuts will glaze during baking.
