Julieta's Plum Pudding
A festive plum pudding made from ground hamburger buns, fruit and nuts, steamed in a bain-marie and decorated with sugar and cherries.

Ingredients
Type a number or fraction (for example 0.5, 2 or 1/2) and the amounts recalculate.
- 8hamburger buns, ground
- 1 1/2 cupsmilk
- 2 cupssugar
- 6eggs
- 1 teaspoonbaking soda
- 2limes, zested
- 1 cupraisins
- 2small glasses of sweet wine
- 1small box of chopped prunes
- 1 cupchopped walnuts
- 1/2 cupburnt sugar caramel
- 1 cupcandied fruit
Instructions
- Mix the buns, the milk and the sugar.
- Add the eggs one at a time and finally the rest of the ingredients.
- Pour the mixture into a greased but unfloured bundt mould.
- Bake at 350° top and bottom, in a bain-marie and covered with aluminium foil, for 2½ hours. It can also be cooked in a pressure cooker for 1½ hours.
- Decorate with icing sugar and cherries.
Notes and variations
- The "dulce quemado" is burnt-sugar caramel that gives the pudding colour and flavour.
