Butter Cookies
Soft, buttery cookies made with cornstarch and flour, shaped by hand and flattened with a fork.

Ingredients
Type a number or fraction (for example 0.5, 2 or 1/2) and the amounts recalculate.
- 1/2 cupcornstarch
- 1/2 cupsugar
- 1 cupflour
- 3/4 poundbutter or margarine
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees.
- Sift the cornstarch with the sugar and flour.
- Separately, beat the butter until smooth.
- Add the sifted dry ingredients and form a smooth dough.
- With your hands, form small balls, place them in rows on an ungreased tray, separate them and flatten them lightly with a flour-dipped fork.
- Bake for 15 to 17 minutes.
- Remove the cookies from the tray before they cool.
Notes and variations
- For presentation, use cookie cutters, decorate with jam and sprinkle with coconut and icing sugar.
