Ham, Pineapple and Cheese with Mustard Sauce

Layers of ham, cheese and pineapple baked and bathed in a mustard sauce with cream and paprika. Served with shoestring potatoes.

Ingredients

Type a number or fraction (for example 0.5, 2 or 1/2) and the amounts recalculate.

  • 2cans of pineapple rings
  • 1 poundham cut not too thin
  • 1 poundDutch edam or gruyère cheese
  • 1/2 cupheavy cream
  • saltto taste
  • mustardto taste
  • paprikato taste
  • 2 tablespoonsflour
  • 1/4 poundbutter

Instructions

  1. Grease the baking dish with butter.
  2. Place a layer of ham, cheese and pineapple, and so on until finished.
  3. Reserve the pineapple juice and put it over the heat with mustard to taste, then the cream, the salt, the pepper and the butter in small bits, to form a smooth paste.
  4. Bathe the dish with the sauce, sprinkle with paprika and bake.
  5. Serve with shoestring potatoes.
